As long as I surround myself with love, happiness, and pink in this life, then I know I'll be okay...
I set aside a little bit of money to buy Charlise some winter clothes (she has gone through a major growth spurt!), and I wound up buying two pairs of pink shoes, one pair of tights and a furry white vest. But, I plan on supplementing these items with some handmade skirts and dresses I have created in my head. It's just funny because today as I was opening the box, Charlise watched me pull out, not one, but TWO pairs of pink shoes for the fall season! And as I squealed with delight and she mimicked my excitement, I realized, I was passing on the tradition of shoe obsession, pink obsession, shopping delight, and finding happiness in the little moments of life. Sure, somebody else might read this and think that I'm passing on materialistic tendencies, unhealthy shopping habits, unneccessary desires for abundance, and a tendency towards the gluttonous devouring of the color pink. But, I don't think that's true, it was the sweetest little moment, like Christmas, pulling these furry pink boots out of the box, and seeing the sparkle in her eyes, and then opening up the other box to reveal bright pink clogs. She likened to the clogs the most and wore them for the rest of the day, "click-clacking" proudly through the house. It was like her first pair of "heels". . Shoes are just special, and pink is just glorious, and it's so nice to share that passion with my best friend, my sweet daughter Charlise... (The other day- as a pre-cursor to my pink shoe splurge for her, she tried on my pink heels and just loved them, I loved the photo op, an absolute scrapbook treasure moment! see below)
